Movember...11月って?

Movember is just a couple days away. Now I have looked it up and its big in Australia, US, Canada but its not that big here in Hong Kong.

Movember is a simple charity movement where men grow mustaches out for 30 days to be a walking billboard of action towards mens health research. Prostate Cancer and depression being the largest two.  Men who take part are called Mo Bro's and women who help gather support are called Mo sista's.

Becoming a Mo Bro is simple, there are 5 rules.

1. October 31st the mustache and handle bar area must be clean. AKA no facial hair.
2. During November no hair can grow below the bottom lip.
3. No joining of mustache to sideburns.
4. No joining of the handle bars to your chin to create a goatie.
5. Each man with a mustache must conduct himself as a true gentleman!

Simple as that.
The traditional Mo Bro looks are below

If you struggle to grow a beard start now.... awareness is awareness! But technically you're not allowed to start early and compete but you can still start now for the sake of awareness!

Some team mates and friends in Hong Kong are all growing our beards and my dad and brother are too... I will upload photos when the time comes.

But on a side note in November if you see a guy with a beard, pat him on the back, give him a hug, whistle at him, do something to encourage him on. Also if u see food or milk or something mixed up in the beard, please inform him.

I look forward to seeing the bearded men of Hong Kong over the next month.

Cheek kissin'

A little off topic but just a warning for those traveling, I've been to many different places and currently I'm in Spain. One of the first things that shocked me was the simple act of saying "Hi","Hello", "ola"...

In Spain you kiss each other twice on the cheek even if its the first time to meet someone aka a stranger. Male and female it is customary and between males it is acceptable as well. Normal or weird...?? Not saying its good or bad I mean you could get lucky or very unlucky depending on the stranger, when they last showered... etc etc... Another thing is that in Spain its unspoken fact that u always go for the right cheek, so your left. Again, no idea why.

For Japanese I think this is very different. In Japan even a handshake between men is rare. Its more of a greeting from a distance. Almost no contact and at most an awkward hug/ shoulder tap.

In most of Europe it is a hand shake between men and a hand shake between strangers. In my experience.

South America many countries do a cheek kiss going from 1 -3... I'm not sure what it depends on. Probably when that person last showered or how hairy the man's cheeks are.

So as a travel tip not to get caught out, look into greetings as no one likes a awkward hello or goodbye.

My awkward story is I knew this family was a kiss-greeting family so i was ready for 1 and 2... but then the third one came ... me and the mother where kinda eye to eye in way to close range for my comfort ... it was very very awkward.
And someone once lied to Issey saying that in Hawaii they do 5 kisses and he didn't know so i think he went around the island 5 kissing everyone.... No comment on his IQ.

Well thats all for now.

So I wanted to write about motivation and the things I do to keep me motivated. But while brainstorming ideas me and my padre started talking about Demotivation and what really De-motivates me.

1. Long words- Why do people use them? They are not cool or hold greater value than their shorter counterparts, people just think it makes them sound smart....STOP short is the way to go...

2. Discussing politics- Just not a fan.

3. Taxes- Living in Denmark tax is true life sucking.

4. All types of forms- Not a fan and having a long name with a weird background. Me and forms aren't friends.

5. Empty Stadiums- Its a stadium, it shouldn't be empty, do you think gladiators killed each other in empty arenas? Ok I'm not saying Im a gladiator but there needs to be noise and atmosphere.

6. Being hungry- When i have low sugar level I'm definitely one of the top contenders for grumpiest person on the planet.  And people who don't know what "anko" is...shame on you!!

7. People being late-  A friend once said to me, "Better to be late, than wait"... NO... be on time or don't go. Fashionably late is not cool anymore.

8. Stubbing my toe or finger- I've had some hard hits but stubbing your toes can be so so demotivating, its a stay in bed injury. As a side one to this cutting your nail too short and having it hurt for the next 5 days.

9. Airport security check- Yes safety first, but i wear my belt for a reason, I don't really want to take off in public and walk 10meters. And No I didn't wear fresh socks so i wont happily take my shoes off. And no random security check, its the most un-random thing. I've been checked countless number of times.

10. Other people who are demotivated- Its like a infection, when surrounded by people who aren't motivated they suck you down with them. So consider your company.

A short list. Please feel free to comment what demotivates you...

Many of you who look at this blog maybe have known me a long time to see all the odd haircuts I do when I'm bored. Or some of you known me only a year or two so only think I have a shaved head. Some of your might not even know me, so I guess thanks for reading to you.
